Short answer: Before Phase I closes on Nov 24 at 17:59, a free-to-play player can count on about 1,080 Primogems from Daily Commissions (Nov 7–24). Clearing the new Archon Quest, exploration missions and Encounter album adds 1,020 more. That's roughly 13 pulls. The Welkin Moon adds 1,620.
Mitya's banner, Furina's rerun and the Epitome Invocation all end at the same time. Most "how many Primogems in 7.2" posts add up the whole version and call it your budget for this banner. That number is too high. Below I split your Phase I Primogems into four buckets: what you already have, what's certain, what needs clearing, and what you shouldn't count. Then I show the most pulls you could need for your pity and guarantee state. Every number comes from an official HoYoverse notice or help page, with the date it was posted.
What is actually on the banners until Nov 24
HoYoverse's Version 7.2 Event Wishes Notice – Phase I (HoYoLAB, posted Nov 2, 2026) lists three event wishes. All three run "After the Version 7.2 update – 2026/11/24 17:59". The notice doesn't give a time zone for that end time, so go by the countdown on your own server's Wish screen.
| Wish | Featured 5-star | Boosted 4-stars | Ends |
|---|---|---|---|
| Myriad Patterns Unfold (Character Event Wish) | Mitya (Electro), new | Valeriy (Electro, new), Charlotte (Cryo), Rosaria (Cryo) | Nov 24, 17:59 |
| Chanson of Many Waters (Character Event Wish-2) | Furina (Hydro), rerun | Valeriy, Charlotte, Rosaria | Nov 24, 17:59 |
| Epitome Invocation (Weapon Event Wish) | Starsealed Edict (Catalyst), Splendor of Tranquil Waters (Sword) | The Dockhand's Assistant, Prospector's Drill, Dawning Frost, Rainslasher, Rust | Nov 24, 17:59 |
Version 7.2 "Hour of Ruin" went live after maintenance that started on 2026/11/04 06:00 (UTC+8), according to the official maintenance preview posted by @GenshinImpact on Nov 2, 2026. The notice also says Valeriy joins the standard "Wanderlust Invocation" wish in the next version. Mitya and Furina are event-exclusive, so they won't be added to the standard wish.
Phase II characters haven't been announced yet. Don't skip Phase I pulls on a guess about Phase II.

The four Primogem buckets for Phase I
Here's how I sort it, and it's the method I'd suggest to any friend. A Primogem only counts toward Mitya or Furina if you'll have it before Nov 24, 17:59. A reward with a later deadline still helps, but only if you clear it early.

Original graphic: official Primogem amounts you can collect before the Phase I banners end, grouped by how certain they are. Sources: HoYoverse 7.2 notices on HoYoLAB (Nov 2–4, 2026), HoYoLAB Guide of Teyvat (Daily Commissions), HoYoverse Help Center (Welkin Moon). Chart by Buffget, Nov 7, 2026.
Bucket 1: What you already have
Open your inventory and write down three numbers: Primogems, Intertwined Fates and Genesis Crystals. Also check your mail. Two compensation payments came with this update, according to HoYoverse's "Hour of Ruin" Version 7.2 Update Details (HoYoLAB, Nov 3, 2026):
| Compensation | Primogems | Who qualifies | Claim by |
|---|---|---|---|
| Maintenance compensation | 300 | Adventure Rank 5+ by 2026/11/04 06:00 (UTC+8) | Before the end of Version 7.2 (the mail itself expires after 30 days) |
| Issue fix compensation | 300 | Adventure Rank 5+ by 2026/11/04 06:00 (UTC+8) | Before 2026/11/07 06:00 (UTC+8) |
The issue fix deadline has already passed. If you logged in and claimed it in time, it's in your balance now. If you missed it, don't count it. The 300 maintenance Primogems are probably still sitting in your mail, so claim them today.
Convert everything to pulls with one rule: 160 Primogems = 1 Intertwined Fate = 1 pull. That's the in-game exchange rate in Paimon's Bargains, as listed on the Intertwined Fate page of the Genshin Impact Fandom wiki (checked Nov 7, 2026).
| Your stash | How to count it |
|---|---|
| Intertwined Fates | 1 Fate = 1 pull |
| Primogems | Divide by 160, round down |
| Genesis Crystals | Exchange them for Primogems in the shop first, then divide by 160 |
Bucket 2: Certain before the deadline (just log in)
This bucket is time-based. You don't have to clear anything hard. You just have to show up.
- Daily Commissions: 60 Primogems a day. That's four commissions at 10 each plus a 20 bonus from Katheryne. HoYoLAB's official Guide of Teyvat beginner guide (Dec 12, 2024) lists the reward as "Primogems ×60". Counting Nov 7 through Nov 24, that's 18 daily resets: 18 × 60 = 1,080 Primogems. If you read this later, multiply 60 by the days you have left.
- Blessing of the Welkin Moon: 90 Primogems a day, only if it's already active. The HoYoverse Help Center (updated Nov 11, 2025) says you have to log in each day to claim the 90. Days you miss are lost and don't extend the 30-day term. With 18 days of Welkin left, that's 18 × 90 = 1,620.
So a fully free-to-play player who logs in every day has about 1,080 certain Primogems on top of their stash. That's 6 pulls (1,080 ÷ 160 = 6.75). An active Welkin raises it to 2,700, which is 16 pulls.
Bucket 3: Yours only if you clear it before Nov 24
These are official, fixed amounts, but you have to finish the content first. Look at the deadlines. Two of them run well past Phase I, so nothing pushes you to finish early unless you want those Primogems for Mitya or Furina.
| Source | Primogems | Official deadline | Counts for Phase I? |
|---|---|---|---|
| Archon Quest "Hour of Ruin" (Chapter VII Acts V and VI) time-limited reward | 560 | 2026/12/15 14:59 | Only if you finish it before Nov 24 |
| "Where Kristall Roots Run Deep" exploration missions (Novokitezhgrad, Wingspan Peak) | 400 | 2027/01/26 14:59 | Only if you finish it before Nov 24 |
| Repertoire of Myriad Melodies: "Encounter: Interlude of the Long Journey" | 60 | 2026/12/15 14:59 | Only if you finish it before Nov 24 |
Sources: three official 7.2 event notices on HoYoLAB, all posted Nov 2, 2026. The Archon Quest needs Adventure Rank 18 and Chapter VII Act IV "A Rekviem for the Underworld" done first.
If you clear all three: 560 + 400 + 60 = 1,020 Primogems, which is 6 more pulls.
Some content has Primogem rewards, but the notices don't give an amount. I list these separately and leave them out of the total:
| Content | Official dates | What the notice says |
|---|---|---|
| "The Grand Defense: Defy the Unjust Judgment" event | All of Version 7.2 (preview: 11/04–12/16) | Rewards include Primogems and a free 4-star character of your choice (Amber, Xiangling, Thoma, Collei, Lynette, Kachina, Aino or Alyosha). No Primogem amount given. Requires AR 20 and Chapter VII Act IV. |
| Stygian Onslaught | 11/11–12/15 (Phase I events preview) | Primogems shown as a reward. No amount given. |
| Spiral Abyss | Phase 1 refresh on Nov 16 (7.2 Update Details) | New floor 11–12 lineups. The notice gives no Primogem amount. |
| Imaginarium Theater | Current season from 11/01; next season Dec 1 (7.2 Update Details) | Primogems shown as a reward. No amount given. |
| Special crystal exchange in Novokitezhgrad | 7.2 new areas | A special crystal from the "Teplo Oasis" Meeting Point quest can be exchanged at the Antykvariat for "valuable rewards such as Primogems". No rate given. |
Stygian Onslaught and Spiral Abyss are two separate game modes. A lot of guides mix them up. Count each one only when the game actually shows you the reward.
Bucket 4: Don't count it
- The #KeepUpWithMitya web event raffle. According to @GenshinImpact (Nov 4, 2026), the raffle prize is "Primogems ×160 (100 winners)". With only 100 winners worldwide, it isn't income you can plan around.
- Anything from Phase II. The banners and events haven't been announced, so none of it can help you before Nov 24.
- Rewards that only come in December. The next Imaginarium Theater season (Dec 1) and Spiral Abyss Phase 2 (Dec 16) both start after Phase I ends.
Put it together: your Phase I pull count
Here's the formula. Fill it in with your own numbers:
| Line | Free-to-play | With an active Welkin Moon |
|---|---|---|
| Your stash in pulls (Fates + Primogems ÷ 160) | Your number | Your number |
| Bucket 2: certain, Nov 7–24 | 1,080 → 6 pulls | 2,700 → 16 pulls |
| Bucket 3: if you clear all three before Nov 24 | +1,020 | +1,020 |
| Bucket 2 + 3 combined | 2,100 → 13 pulls | 3,720 → 23 pulls |
Pulls are rounded down because you can't make part of a pull. Leftover Primogems stay in your account.
Leftovers also add up. If your stash leaves you with, say, 100 spare Primogems, that plus bucket 2 might take you over the next multiple of 160. Always add the Primogem totals first, then divide by 160.
How many more pulls do you need? It depends on two numbers
Before you look at any table, check two things:
- Your pity: how many wishes you've made on the character banners since your last 5-star. Open Wish → History, or count back to your last 5-star.
- Your guarantee state: was your last 5-star on a character banner the featured character, or a standard one? If it was a standard character (you "lost the 50/50"), your next 5-star is guaranteed to be the featured character.
The official rules, from the HoYoverse Help Center article How does the Wish guarantee system work? (updated Sep 17, 2025):
- A Character Event Wish gives you a 5-star character within 90 wishes.
- Each 5-star has a 50% chance of being the featured character. If it isn't, your next 5-star is guaranteed to be the featured character.
- The two Character Event Wish banners share the same pity count and guarantee status. The 7.2 Phase I notice says the same: the guarantee count for "Character Event Wish" and "Character Event Wish-2" is shared and builds up across both.
Since Version 5.0 there's also Capturing Radiance. HoYoverse's FAQ, updated Feb 10, 2025, says it has a base trigger chance of 0.018%. Counting it, there's a consolidated 55.000% chance that a 5-star from the event wish is the featured character. It's guaranteed to trigger after the featured character has come as your second 5-star on three occasions in a row. It raises your odds, but it doesn't change the 90 or 180 worst cases.

Original graphic: the most pulls you could need for one featured 5-star, by pity and guarantee state, at 160 Primogems per pull. Rules from the HoYoverse Help Center (Sep 17, 2025). Chart by Buffget, Nov 7, 2026.
Worst-case table for one featured 5-star (Mitya or Furina)
| Current pity | Guaranteed: max pulls | Guaranteed: max Primogems | Not guaranteed: max pulls | Not guaranteed: max Primogems |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 0 | 90 | 14,400 | 180 | 28,800 |
| 10 | 80 | 12,800 | 170 | 27,200 |
| 20 | 70 | 11,200 | 160 | 25,600 |
| 30 | 60 | 9,600 | 150 | 24,000 |
| 40 | 50 | 8,000 | 140 | 22,400 |
| 50 | 40 | 6,400 | 130 | 20,800 |
| 60 | 30 | 4,800 | 120 | 19,200 |
| 70 | 20 | 3,200 | 110 | 17,600 |
| 80 | 10 | 1,600 | 100 | 16,000 |
How to read it: "max pulls" is the hard ceiling. You'll often get your 5-star earlier, but planning for the ceiling means you won't run out of pulls just before the banner closes.
How many more pulls you need, step by step
- Find your row in the table above, then the "max pulls" column for your guarantee state.
- Subtract the pulls you have now (bucket 1).
- Subtract bucket 2 (6 pulls free-to-play, 16 with Welkin), and bucket 3 (6 more) if you'll clear that content before Nov 24.
- What's left is the number of extra pulls you need in the worst case.
Example A (worked example, not a real account): pity 40, guaranteed, 30 Fates in stock, free-to-play, will clear the Archon Quest and exploration. Max needed is 50 pulls. 50 − 30 − 6 (bucket 2) − 6 (bucket 3) = 8. In the worst case you need 8 more pulls, which is 1,280 Primogems.
Example B (worked example): pity 10, not guaranteed, 60 Fates, Welkin active, no time to clear new content. Max needed is 170. 170 − 60 − 16 = 94. In the worst case you need 94 more pulls. A player in this spot should decide now whether Mitya is a must-have or a nice-to-have, rather than hoping for an early 5-star.
Want both Mitya and Furina?
Since the two banners share one pity and one guarantee, getting both means getting two featured 5-stars in a row from the same counter. Worst case from pity 0 when you're guaranteed: 90 for the first (guaranteed featured), then up to 180 for the second, which starts back on a 50/50. That's 270 pulls (43,200 Primogems). If you're not guaranteed, it's up to 360 pulls. For most players, picking one is the realistic plan.
The weapon banner: different rules, same deadline
Epitome Invocation uses its own counter. According to the same HoYoverse Help Center article:
- A 5-star weapon is guaranteed within 80 wishes.
- The first 5-star weapon has a 75% chance of being one of the two promotional weapons. If it isn't, your next 5-star weapon is a promotional one.
Epitomized Path lets you pick which of the two you want. HoYoverse's "Capturing Radiance" FAQ (Aug 16, 2024) says the number of Fate Points needed was "adjusted to 1". The Version 2.0 notes that introduced the system (HoYoLAB, July 2021) set these rules:
- A 5-star weapon that isn't your chosen one gives you a Fate Point.
- Changing or cancelling your choice resets your Fate Points.
- When the Epitome Invocation ends, your Fate Points reset.
| Weapon banner situation | Worst case for your chosen weapon |
|---|---|
| Pity 0, path set, 0 Fate Points | 160 pulls (25,600 Primogems) |
| Pity 0, path set, 1 Fate Point | 80 pulls (12,800 Primogems) |
| Path changed mid-banner | Fate Points go back to 0 |
| Banner ends Nov 24 with 1 Fate Point | The point is lost |
So the practical rule is: only start the weapon banner if you can finish the path before Nov 24, 17:59. A Fate Point you earn on Nov 23 and then can't use is lost when the banner ends.
Does your weapon pity count carry over from older weapon banners? The 7.2 notice doesn't say. Check Wish → Details in the game before you plan around a high weapon pity.
Four common errors in 7.2 guides, corrected
I read through the top results for 7.2 Primogem counts before writing this. These four mistakes come up again and again.
1. "86 pulls is pity." It isn't.
The official ceiling for a 5-star on the character banner is 90 wishes (HoYoverse Help Center). Some guides use a lower number that looks like a cap but is really a guess about where your luck usually turns. Plan with 90. Anything earlier is a bonus.
2. "Soft pity" is not a guarantee
Players call the rising chance near the end of the counter "soft pity", and HoYoverse has never published an exact number for it. The only guarantees in the official rules are 90 (a 5-star) and "next 5-star is featured" after a lost 50/50. If a guide says you'll get Mitya at 75, read it as "maybe", not "will".
3. Whole-version income ≠ Phase I income
Version totals add rewards that end Dec 15, Dec 16, even Jan 26, 2027. For a banner that ends Nov 24, only the Primogems you'll actually have by then count. That's why bucket 3 says "only if you finish it before Nov 24".
4. The web-event raffle isn't income
"160 Primogems" from #KeepUpWithMitya goes to 100 raffle winners. It isn't 160 for everyone, so leave it out of your budget.
If you need more pulls: what topping up costs in the US
Genesis Crystals convert to Primogems in the in-game shop. Here's the US App Store in-app purchase list for Genshin Impact as I checked it on Nov 7, 2026. The amounts are the crystal counts in each item's name. The in-game Crystal Top-Up screen may show extra bonus crystals on some purchases, so check there before you buy.
| App Store item (US) | Price | Pulls (÷ 160, base amount) | Cost per pull |
|---|---|---|---|
| 60 Genesis Crystals | $0.99 | 0.375 | $2.64 |
| 300 Genesis Crystals | $4.99 | 1.875 | $2.66 |
| 980 Genesis Crystals | $14.99 | 6.125 | $2.45 |
| 1980 Genesis Crystals | $29.99 | 12.375 | $2.42 |
| 3280 Genesis Crystals | $49.99 | 20.5 | $2.44 |
| 6480 Genesis Crystals | $99.99 | 40.5 | $2.47 |
Other items on the same listing: Gnostic Hymn $9.99, Gnostic Chorus $19.99 and Intertwined Fate ×10 $21.99. The Blessing of the Welkin Moon is $4.99 on the Xbox Store, where it's described as 300 Genesis Crystals plus 90 Primogems a day for 30 days.
For a banner that ends soon, Welkin is the efficient buy, but only if you buy it early. Each day you wait is 90 fewer Primogems before Nov 24. Bought on Nov 7, it gives 300 crystals plus 18 × 90 = 1,620 Primogems before the banner ends. That's 1,920 total, or 12 pulls for $4.99. Bought on Nov 20, it gives only 300 + 5 × 90 = 750 before the deadline. The other 25 days still pay out, but after Phase I.
I compared crystal packs and the ×10 Fate bundle in detail in our Genesis Crystals vs Intertwined Fate ×10 breakdown. If you'd rather top up with your UID than through an app store, there's also a Genshin Impact Genesis Crystal top-up page on Buffget.
A 5-minute Phase I checklist
- Claim your mail. Get the 300 maintenance Primogems before 7.2 ends. The mail itself expires after 30 days.
- Write down your pity and guarantee state from Wish History.
- Count your stash in pulls (Fates + Primogems ÷ 160).
- Add bucket 2 (60 × days left, plus 90 × days left if Welkin is active).
- Decide on bucket 3. Can you clear the Archon Quest (560), exploration (400) and Encounter (60) before Nov 24?
- Compare with the worst-case table. If you're covered, pull calmly. If you're not, decide whether you'll top up, gamble, or wait.
- Weapon banner last. Only start it if you can finish your Epitomized Path before Nov 24, 17:59.
Video: "Character Trailer – 'Valeriy: Order in Practice' | Genshin Impact", official Genshin Impact YouTube channel, uploaded Nov 1, 2026 (US Pacific time). Valeriy is the new 4-star boosted on both Phase I character banners.
FAQ
When exactly does Mitya's banner end?
The official notice says "After the Version 7.2 update – 2026/11/24 17:59" for all three Phase I wishes. It doesn't give a time zone, so trust the countdown on your own server's Wish screen.
Do Mitya's and Furina's banners share pity?
Yes. The 7.2 notice and the HoYoverse Help Center both say the two Character Event Wish banners share the same pity count and guarantee status.
If I lost my last 50/50 in an earlier version, am I still guaranteed?
The Help Center says the next 5-star after a non-featured one is guaranteed to be featured, and the Phase I notice says the count is independent of other wish types. Neither 7.2 notice says anything specific about carry-over from older banners, so check Wish → Details and your Wish History in the game to confirm your status.
How many Primogems is the Archon Quest worth, and when do I have to finish it?
560 Primogems, plus Character Ascension Materials and other rewards, if you finish by 2026/12/15 14:59. It only helps your Phase I budget if you finish before Nov 24.
Is The Grand Defense a free 4-star?
Yes, you pick one of eight 4-star characters (Amber, Xiangling, Thoma, Collei, Lynette, Kachina, Aino or Alyosha). It also gives Primogems, but the notice doesn't say how many, so I don't count them.
Does Stygian Onslaught count as Spiral Abyss?
No. They're separate modes with separate schedules. Stygian Onslaught opens Nov 11, and Spiral Abyss Phase 1 refreshes Nov 16.
Is Capturing Radiance a better 50/50?
HoYoverse says that, counting Capturing Radiance, a 5-star from the character event wish has a consolidated 55.000% chance of being featured. It doesn't shorten the 90-pull ceiling or the 180-pull worst case.
How many Fate Points does Epitomized Path need now?
One, according to HoYoverse's FAQ from Aug 16, 2024. Fate Points reset when the Epitome Invocation ends, so a point left over on Nov 24 is lost.
Bottom line
For Phase I, count only what you'll have before Nov 24, 17:59:
- Your stash.
- 1,080 from Daily Commissions (plus 1,620 if Welkin is active).
- Up to 1,020 more if you clear the Archon Quest, exploration missions and Encounter album in time.
Then compare that with the worst-case row for your pity and guarantee state: 90 pulls if you're guaranteed, 180 if you're not, minus your current pity. If the numbers cover you, pull with confidence. If they don't, you'll know exactly how many more pulls you need before the banner ends.
