What one Warp costs

One Warp costs 160 Stellar Jade, and Oneiric Shards convert 1:1 into Jade in the Exchange tab. Across the standard packs that puts an Oneiric Shards top up cost per pull at $2.42–$2.66, or $1.98 on the 6,480 tier once its standing +1,600 bonus is counted.

The 160-Jade rule

One Star Rail Pass, one Star Rail Special Pass, one Warp: 160 Stellar Jade each. A 10-pull is 1,600. Shards never buy Warps directly — they buy Jade, and Jade buys passes in the Store.

Stellar Jade splits into Star Rail Passes (Regular and Starter Warps) and Star Rail Special Passes (limited Character and Light Cone Event Warps), and the banner sets the pity rules:

  • Character Event Warps: 0.6% base 5-star rate, 90-pull hard pity, 50/50 on the featured character, soft pity around warps 74–75 per community estimates, average featured character at roughly 94 pulls.
  • Light Cone Event Warps: 80-pull pity, 75% featured rate, soft pity from 65 — friendlier, though a guaranteed cone can still run 160 pulls.

One 5-star at hard pity is 14,400 Jade, or $178–$238 depending on the pack. A featured character worst case is 180 Warps: 28,800 Jade, about $356 at bulk rates and up to $475 in the smallest tiers. The Departure Warp cuts the entry cost (20% off, 1,280 Jade per 10-pull, a 5-star inside 50 Warps) and then expires.

Converting Shards to Jade

Three taps:

  1. Open the Exchange tab and convert Shards to Stellar Jade 1:1.
  2. In the Store, buy Passes at 160 Jade each.
  3. Warp — Special Passes for limited banners.

The conversion is exact, so leftovers are pure arithmetic: 980 Shards becomes 6 passes with 20 to spare, and a 6,480 pack covers 40 pulls with 80 left over. You never get fractional pulls, and nothing is lost.

The in-game shop isn't the only route. The Honkai Star Rail Oneiric Shards top up page on buffget lays out the packs side by side and delivers to your UID, which is handy when a banner deadline is the reason you're buying.

Every pack, priced

Six USD tiers, their standing bonuses, and what a Warp costs at each:

PackPriceShards (base + bonus)Shards/$Cost per pull
60$0.996060.6$2.64
300$4.99300 + 30 = 33060.1$2.66
980$14.99980 + 110 = 1,09065.4$2.45
1,980$29.991,980 + 260 = 2,24066.0$2.42
3,280$49.993,280 + 600 = 3,88065.6$2.44
6,480$99.996,480 + 1,600 = 8,08080.8$1.98

One asterisk on the last row: its 80.8 shards per dollar and $1.98 per pull already include the standing +1,600 bonus. Strip that out and the 6,480 base rate is 64.8 shards per dollar — below the tier above it.

On raw shards, the 1,980 tier leads at 66.0 per dollar, with the 3,280 (65.6) and 980 (65.4) close behind and the two smallest near 60. The 6,480 tier has the lowest cost per pull in the table only because it carries the fattest standing bonus.

Two habits cost money here. Topping up in the 60- or 300-shard tiers mid-banner is the most expensive way to buy a pull in the game, and assuming the biggest pack always has the best rate is the second: if a patch trims that +1,600, the ranking flips back to the 1,980 tier.

First-purchase double bonus

A first purchase of the 1,980 tier returns 3,960 Shards instead of 2,240. That's the First Top-Up Double Bonus: 100% extra shards, once per denomination, per account.

Which packs qualify

The double covers the 300, 980, 1,980, 3,280 and 6,480 tiers. The $0.99 starter pack is excluded — buy it first and you spend real money without touching the bonus. Each tier's double is one-time and permanent: no expiry, no refresh schedule, no stacking with itself. A first 6,480 purchase yields 12,960 Shards, enough for 81 pulls.

The bonus is per tier, not per account. Buying the 1,980 tier twice gives you the double once and the standard 2,240 the second time. Check the bonus tag on each pack in the in-game shop — a live double is marked on the tier, and an unmarked tier means you've already used it.

When it resets

Not on a timer. Resets come at milestones — anniversaries and big version overhauls. The last full reset arrived with Version 4.2 on April 22, 2026, 06:00 UTC+8, for the game's third anniversary: every tier went fresh, accounts counted as new, and any pre-patch bonus left unclaimed disappeared. Anniversary windows stack other rewards too — a 1,600-Stellar-Jade mail, a login track with 20 Star Rail Special Passes over 7 days, and 30+ free pulls across the version.

Top-ups can feed event tracks as well. The Cherished Recollection event (April 22–June 1, 2026) counted Oneiric Shard purchases toward milestones rewarding Tears of Dreams, Self-Modeling Resin and a Trailblaze Power Leap. Check the live event page before a large purchase.

Cost per pull with the double applied

Drop a live first-purchase bonus into the same purchase and the table above roughly halves.

After doubling

The eligible tiers land at $1.33 per pull on the 300 tier, $1.21 on the 1,980, and $1.23 on the 6,480 (12,960 Shards = 81 pulls). That $1.21–$1.33 band is the best per-pull pricing the in-game store ever offers.

Buying each bonus pack once

Take every eligible tier once while the double is live and you collect 600 + 1,960 + 3,960 + 6,560 + 12,960 = 26,040 Shards for $199.95 — about 162 Warps, roughly $1.23 a pull — before you spend a cent on standard packs. The same five purchases after the double is used return 20,440 Shards: 25 fewer pulls for identical money.

Whether you're burning a fresh double or filling in a few pulls mid-banner, third-party pricing is worth a look first: buffget's buy Oneiric Shards online cheap listing keeps pack costs competitive and delivers shards to your UID, so a live bonus doesn't sit unclaimed while you compare.

Cheaper routes to pulls

Express Supply Pass

Honkai Star Rail Express Supply Pass item that grants Stellar Jade daily

$4.99 returns 300 Oneiric Shards instantly plus 90 Stellar Jade a day for 30 days — 3,000 Jade total, 18.75 pulls, about $0.27 per pull. Per Jade that's $0.0016 against $0.0124 from Shard packs, roughly 8x cheaper. Two limits: you can only extend it while under 179 days remaining (an over-cap purchase refunds 330 Shards), and daily Jade claims reset at 4:00 AM server time.

Nameless Honor

Nameless Honor, the paid track of the Nameless Glory battle pass, costs $9.99 and returns about 680 Stellar Jade, 4 Star Rail Special Passes, and a selectable 4-star Light Cone. It's the only place a $10 bill converts into a Light Cone instead of just pulls.

Free income

F2P players bank 8,000–10,000 Stellar Jade a month — 50 to 62 pulls — from 60-Jade daily missions, 800 Jade from Forgotten Hall every two weeks, 600–800 from Memory of Chaos on the same cycle, and 1,000–2,000 per event.

Holding Shards for Outfits

Convert every Shard to Jade the second it lands and you'll come up short when an Outfit drops. Alternate Outfits cost 1,680 Oneiric Shards (1,350 during sales), and pieces like Nascent Spring and Spring Missive are direct Shard purchases that never touch the Jade exchange. The Contract Shop (Herta) also takes Shards: Fuel Refill at 240 (weekly), Quest Sharing at 180 (two in stock, weekly), Roaming Refill at 330, and Resource Supply V2 at 660.

Regional prices, tax and platform gaps

The 6,480 pack is $99.99 in the US, ¥12,000 in Japan and R$499.90 in Brazil. Across the 60→6,480 tiers the official ranges are US $0.99–$99.99, EU €0.99–€99.99, China ¥6–¥648, Japan ¥120–¥12,000, India ₹99–₹9,900, Canada C$1.29–C$129.99, Australia AU$1.99–AU$149.99, Brazil R$4.90–R$499.90, Hong Kong HK$8–HK$788, and Indonesia Rp16,000–Rp1,599,000.

Turkey, the Philippines, Indonesia, Brazil and India price the same shards lowest; $100 of US-priced shards runs roughly $60–$75 at Turkey rates. Platform adds another gap — the PC client, iOS/Android stores and PlayStation each apply their own pricing and markups, and VAT or sales tax is added at checkout where it applies. Compare the final charged amount, not the sticker price.

Topping up safely

Start at the in-game shop or the HoYoverse top-up portal, log in, pick your server and tier, pay. Shards land in the in-game mailbox within minutes. A few rules keep it painless:

  • Legitimate top-ups need only your Player UID and server region. Never share your HoYoverse password or account login with any service.
  • Double-check the UID before paying. A wrong UID credits another player's account and there's no recovery.
  • Keep confirmation emails and receipts until delivery lands.
  • Shards can't transfer between accounts — gifting means topping up the recipient's UID and server directly.
  • Ignore free shard generator sites; they exist to steal credentials.

Before you pay, check the bonus tag on the tier and the pack rate in the table above, then pick the tier that gives the most Warps per dollar — not the biggest number on the button.

FAQ

How many Oneiric Shards is one pull?

Convert 1:1 in the Exchange tab and one pull costs the same as a single Special Pass: 160 Shards. What matters for planning is the remainder. Most packs don't divide evenly into pulls, so leftovers roll toward your next pass rather than being lost.

Does the first purchase bonus reset?

Not on a schedule. It refreshes only at milestones such as anniversaries and major overhauls, and the most recent full reset came with the third-anniversary version. Check the in-game bonus tag before buying — an unclaimed bonus doesn't survive a reset, so don't leave one sitting.

Do Oneiric Shards expire?

No expiry is listed in the current exchange rules, and the first-purchase bonus is permanent once unlocked. The real constraints are different: Shards can't move between accounts, and Outfit prices or bonus state can shift with a patch. Plan around those, not an expiry date.

Is the Express Supply Pass better than buying shards?

If you log in daily for a month, yes — it turns $4.99 into nearly twenty pulls' worth of Jade. Straight Shards only win when you need a specific number of Warps today on a banner that closes this week. Casual players should start with the pass.

Why do prices differ on mobile and PC?

Store policy. App Store, Google Play and PlayStation each apply their own regional pricing and tax treatment, while the PC client and web top-up portal bill differently. VAT or sales tax is added at checkout in regions that charge it, so compare the final total rather than the sticker price.

Do I get double shards on every top up?

No. The double applies once per pack tier per account, and the smallest starter tier is excluded entirely. Every purchase after the first on a given tier returns the base amount plus that tier's standard bonus and nothing more. Watch the bonus tag in the shop.
