Genshin Genesis Crystals Top Up: 90-Wish Cost $110–$220
Genshin Impact Genesis Crystals top up: 90 wishes = 14,400 Primogems, ~$220 at list. With the first-time double bonus you pay about $110, $1.21 per wish.
What one wish actually costs
One Character Event Wish costs 160 Primogems, and Genesis Crystals convert to Primogems at 1:1 — so hard pity at 90 wishes needs 14,400 Genesis Crystals. At US list prices that's about $220, or about $110–$115 if your first-time doubles are still unused. Per wish: $2.42–$2.47 at list, $1.21–$1.23 with the bonuses.
Genesis Crystals are Genshin Impact's real-money currency. They cover skins, namecards and bundles, but they can't perform a Wish on their own — turning them into Primogems is a manual, instant, 1:1, irreversible step in the Shop. Primogems then buy Intertwined Fates for Character Event Wishes, or Acquaint Fates for the standard Wanderlust Invocation banner.
Every number below builds on 160 Primogems per pull — a 10-pull costs 1,600. Before you pick a tier, look up the current genesis crystals top up bonus for that pack — buffget lists each tier's bonus state next to the price, so you can compare tiers without guessing which double you've already spent.
The six official packs and their per-crystal rates

| Genesis Crystals | USD price | Cost per crystal | With first-time double |
|---|---|---|---|
| 60 | $0.99 | $0.0165 | 120 |
| 300 | $4.99 | $0.0166 | 600 |
| 980 | $14.99 | $0.0153 | 1,960 |
| 1,980 | $29.99 | $0.0151 | 3,960 |
| 3,280 | $49.99 | $0.0152 | 6,560 |
| 6,480 | $99.99 | $0.0154 | 12,960 |
Two rows are counter-intuitive. The $29.99 / 1,980-GC pack has the best per-crystal rate at $0.0151 — not the $99.99 pack, which lands at $0.0154. And the $4.99 / 300-GC pack costs more per crystal ($0.0166) than the $0.99 / 60-GC pack ($0.0165). Buying bigger isn't the same as buying cheaper.
The doubled column explains why the same $29.99 tier wins on the first-time bonus too: 132.04 crystals per dollar, ahead of 131.22 at $49.99, 130.75 at $14.99, 129.61 at $99.99, 121.21 at $0.99, and 120.24 at $4.99. The bonus fires once per tier per account per reset cycle; once used, that tier sits at standard rates until the next reset.
Your 90-wish shopping list
With every double intact, the cheapest route to a 90-wish fund is four packs: $49.99 + $29.99 + $14.99 + $14.99 = $109.96, returning 14,440 crystals (6,560 + 3,960 + 1,960 + 1,960) — enough for the cycle with 40 to spare. If you'd rather buy twice instead of four times, $99.99 + $14.99 = $114.98 gets you 14,920 crystals (12,960 + 1,960). About five dollars more, half the receipts.
Compare tier by tier rather than looking at sticker price — buffget shows each tier's bonus state alongside the official shop, and every figure you compare should be tied to the same tier and region.
Once the doubles are gone, the same fund costs about $220 at list rates. That's what a $99.99 buy looks like after the bonus is spent: 6,480 crystals, 40 wishes. With the bonus active the same money returns 12,960 crystals — 81 wishes.
Then there's the number nobody wants: losing the 50/50 and needing a guaranteed featured 5-star takes 180 wishes, 28,800 Primogems. Budget about $220 with first-time doubles still available, and close to $440 without them. Expect to spend far less — roughly 105 pulls, 16,800 Primogems, is the usual total for a guaranteed featured unit. Under 2% of players ever hit double hard pity in one cycle.
The Weapon Event Wish (Epitome Invocation) behaves differently: hard pity at 80 wishes, 12,800 Primogems, and a guaranteed featured weapon runs to 160 pulls, 25,600. Epitomized Path has required only one Fate Point since Version 5.0.
Soft pity and the 50/50
Pull 74 on a character banner is where the math softens. Soft pity starts there — the 5-star rate climbs every single pull, roughly 6% at wish 74 and around 32% by wish 80 — against a base rate of 0.6% (1.6% averaged with pity). Only the 90th pull is a guarantee. On weapon banners soft pity begins at pull 63, base rate 0.7%.

Real pull data says the average 5-star arrives around pull 62, most land between 75 and 82, and the median is pull 77 — 12,320 Primogems. So plan on 75–80 wishes per 5-star instead of 90, and treat 14,400 as the ceiling, not the expected bill.
The 50/50 is the second lever. Your first 5-star has a 50% chance of being the featured character; lose it and the next 5-star is guaranteed featured. Capturing Radiance, added in Version 5.0, nudges the consolidated featured chance to 55% through a 0.018% base trigger. Standard pulls you can lose to: Diluc, Jean, Keqing, Mona, Qiqi, Tighnari, Dehya, Mizuki.
Pity carries across banners of the same type and only resets when a 5-star drops. A lost 50/50 guarantee also carries until you take the featured unit. Pity built on the Zibai banner in Version 6.3 transfers to Varka's debut on February 25, 2026. Spending before a new banner is only wasteful if you ignore the counter in your Wish history, which shows the last six months.
Welkin Moon and the Battle Pass
$4.99 buys a Blessing of the Welkin Moon: 300 Primogems immediately, then 90 a day for 30 days — 3,000 total, about 18.75 wishes, roughly $0.27 per wish. Per dollar, that's around 601 Primogems against the 65–81 a Genesis Crystal pack returns. For players who weigh every purchase this carefully, it can be convenient to buy genesis crystals cheap through buffget when planning a top-up.
The catch is pacing. Each purchase covers 30 days, so funding a full 90-pull cycle this way takes nearly five months of Welkin. It suits players with a banner three versions away, not one that ends next Tuesday.
The Gnostic Hymn Battle Pass adds 680 Primogems, 4 Intertwined Fates and 4 Acquaint Fates for $9.99 — 1,320 Primogem-equivalent, about 8 wishes per cycle. Gnostic Chorus is the pricier tier with the same Primogem line. Meanwhile the free track keeps running: Daily Commissions pay 60 Primogems a day (four quests at 10 each plus a 20 completion bonus) and Spiral Abyss floors 9–12 pay 600 per reset. A full F2P version like 6.3 (January 14 – February 24, 2026) yielded 11,060–13,160 Primogems, or 69–82 wishes.
Bonus resets and leftovers
The first-time double restocks once per reset cycle, and the pattern lines up with each September anniversary:
- v1.0: September 28, 2020
- v4.1: September 27, 2023
- v5.0: August 28, 2025
- Luna I: September 10, 2025
The next reset is expected around September 23, 2026 with Version 7.1 — nothing official yet, so treat that date as an educated guess and confirm in-game before planning a big buy.
In Paimon's Bargains, Masterless Starglitter and Masterless Stardust exchange for Fates on a monthly stock that refreshes. Check the live rates in the shop rather than trusting an old screenshot.
Leftover Genesis Crystals are fine to hold — they never expire and never auto-convert. Convert in Shop > Crystal Top-Up > Convert only when you know the banner, and never convert into Acquaint Fates: the standard banner has no rate-up character to chase.
Platform and regional pricing
Buying inside the game and through the official web top-up both price in the same tiers, but your platform decides the currency. PlayStation accounts pay through the PSN wallet at regional pricing; PC and mobile bill in your local storefront currency.
Web recharge steps: choose your server, pick a bundle, enter your UID (found in-game under Settings > Account), then pay. Crystals typically arrive within 5–15 minutes. Verify UID and server before confirming — a mistyped UID sends crystals to a stranger's account.

Tax and VAT land on top of the sticker price in many regions, and card currency conversion adds another 1–3%. VPN-ing into a cheaper region violates Genshin Impact's Terms of Service and risks suspension — a far more expensive outcome than the few dollars saved.
Costly buying mistakes
Converting every crystal the moment it lands, then wishing without checking the pity counter, is how people overshoot a guarantee they already had half-built. Open Wish history first and count since your last 5-star. Spending crystals on Acquaint Fates is the other classic — the standard banner has no rate-up 5-star, so those pulls never build toward a featured character.
Never share a password with a top-up service. A legitimate purchase needs only your UID and server; anything asking for login credentials is a scam. Chargebacks and refund abuse also flag accounts, so buy what you can afford.
A simple template for the next banner: check your pity count, assume 75–80 wishes for one 5-star, add 80 more only if you lost the last 50/50, then top up exactly the gap in Genesis Crystals. If you're topping up today, check buffget's live Genesis Crystal rates first, then run the 14,400-Primogem math against your banner — the biggest pack isn't always the cheapest wish.
FAQ
How much does 90 pity cost in Genshin Impact?
One thing decides it: whether your first-time double bonuses are still available. On a fresh account you can fund the whole cycle for a little over $100; once those doubles are spent, expect to pay roughly twice that. The shopping list above shows which tiers combine for the lowest total.
How much is 1 wish in Genesis Crystals?
The conversion rate is what matters, not the pack: 160 Genesis Crystals per pull. So the right pack is whichever has the lowest per-crystal cost — the $29.99 tier, not the biggest one. Multiplied by your remaining pity count, that's your real bill.
Does the first-time top-up bonus double Genesis Crystals?
Yes, once per pack tier, per account, per reset cycle. Buying the same tier twice in one cycle doubles only the first purchase; the second reverts to standard rates. If a banner comes after the annual reset, unused tiers double again.
Is Welkin Moon cheaper than buying Genesis Crystals?
Per Primogem, far cheaper — the Welkin section above shows the gap. The tradeoff is pacing: rewards arrive over 30 days, so Welkin can't fund a banner that's about to end. Stack Welkin early for long-term savings, then top up crystals when a banner you want is close to ending.
What is soft pity in Genshin Impact?
It's the stretch where the 5-star rate climbs on every pull instead of staying flat — starting around wish 74 on character banners. It's the reason most players see a 5-star well before the hard-pity ceiling, and why budgeting the full 90 usually overshoots.
Do Genesis Crystals expire if I don't use them?
No. They sit in your account indefinitely and never convert on their own. That makes them safe to stockpile: buy during a bonus window, then convert to Primogems only once the banner you actually want is live. There's no penalty for holding them.
